The Border of Eemsdelta

Carolina Burandt, Ingeborg Entrop and Klaas Hendrik Hantschel are invited by the Bierumer School to react to the newly formed municipality of Eemsdelta and to provide the concept of 'border', the border as metaphor, with new content. Eemsdelta, including Loppersum, Appingedam, Delfzijl and Bierum, land of drowned villages, wind turbines and industry, rectilinear fields, an impressive network of lakes and the river Eems flowing into the Wadden Sea.
They will be staying in residence at the Bierumer School to experience Eemsdelta at first hand. To be seen and experienced are interdisciplinary works, presented in Bierum and in the space of the HEMA in Delfzijl furnished as a temporary embassy of the Bierumer School with interventions, performances, conversations and interviews.
